Alocasia odora, commonly known as Giant Upright Elephant Ear, is a tropical perennial with large, glossy, heart-shaped leaves that stand upright on sturdy stalks. Reaching 4 to 8 feet tall, it forms an impressive presence in the garden. Its broad leaves can grow 2 to 4 feet long, creating a dramatic, architectural effect. It thrives in warm, humid environments with bright, indirect light and moist, well-drained soil. Unlike other Alocasia species, it produces fragrant flowers, particularly noticeable at night, adding to its ornamental appeal.
