Amaryllis 'Amadeus' reaches 18 to 24 inches tall, featuring fully double, ruffled white blooms with soft red streaking and a pale green throat. Each bulb (28/30 cm or 36/38 cm jumbo) produces two to three thick stalks, with four to six flowers per stem, blooming 4 to 6 weeks after planting—ideal for holiday sales.
Planting Time: Best planted in fall for optimal growth.
Location: Prefers bright, indirect light with medium to high intensity.
Soil & Irrigation: Requires well-drained, fertile soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.5. Sandy soil prevents bulb damage, while drip irrigation minimizes fungal risks.
Watering: Keep soil moist but not soggy; avoid overwatering to prevent bulb rot.
Rooting Temperature: Maintain 70–77°F for strong root development.
Growing Temperature: Ideal at 72°F for steady growth.
Forcing Time: 4–6 weeks to reach the ready-to-sell stage.
Pest & Disease Control: Virus incidence is kept low through tissue culture and insect netting, while a rain-free growing environment reduces disease risks.
Uses: Ideal for greenhouse cultivation, pots & cut flowers. Not suitable for retail sales.
