We love the selection of bulbs available from A.D.R. The variety is great, the quality is excellent and the price is fair. However, the best part of working with A.D.R is the customer service from Chris, Walter and all of the team. They go out of their way to make sure ours needs are met.

Dicentra spectabilis 'Alba', or white bleeding heart, is a shade-loving perennial prized for its arching stems adorned with pure white, heart-shaped flowers. Blooming in late spring to early summer, it thrives in part shade and moist, well-drained soil. Like its pink counterpart, it may go dormant in midsummer, making it a perfect companion for hostas and ferns. Deer-resistant and easy to grow.

Planting: Plant bare roots or divisions in early spring or fall. Set roots 2 to 3 inches deep and space 12 to 24 inches apart, depending on the variety. Ensure the crown is just below the soil surface.
Location: Prefers partial to full shade. Ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders, or under deciduous trees.
Soil: Moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (5.5–7.0). Amend with compost to improve texture and fertility.
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist, especially during active growth. Avoid waterlogged conditions to prevent root rot.
Temperature: Hardy in USDA zones 3–9. Most species go dormant in midsummer, especially in hot climates.
Fertilization: Apply compost or a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Avoid overfeeding.
Pruning: Remove spent flower stalks and yellowing foliage. Allow the plant to go dormant naturally.
Propagation: Divide clumps in early spring or fall every 3 to 5 years. Some species also self-seed.
Pest & Disease: Generally pest-free. Watch for slugs, aphids, and powdery mildew in humid conditions.
