I’ve been purchasing bulbs from A.D.R. for many years. The quality is superior and the service fantastic. Chris and his family have always been prompt and accommodating. If you need it, Chris can find it! I wouldn’t shop anywhere else!

Narcissus 'Nir' is a tazetta daffodil, primarily suited for indoor forcing. It reaches 14 to 18 inches in height and produces clusters of pure white blooms per stem, with a delicate, open cup. The flowers appear 3–4 weeks after planting, making them ideal for holiday displays and winter blooms.
Thriving in bright, indirect light, 'Nir' prefers well-drained soil or water forcing on pebbles. It does not require a cold period, unlike most daffodils, and should be kept at temperatures around 60–65°F for optimal flowering. This variety is known for its strong fragrance and early bloom time, making it a favorite for indoor arrangements and seasonal décor.

Planting Options
In water: Use a shallow container without drainage holes. Add 2–3 inches of pebbles or glass beads, nestle bulbs (pointy side up), and add water just to touch the base of the bulbs—don’t submerge them.
In soil: Use a pot with drainage holes. Fill halfway with potting mix, place bulbs close together, and cover so the top third remains exposed.
Light & Temperature
Start in a cool, dark place (50–60°F) for root development.
Once roots form (7–10 days), move to bright, indirect light at 60–70°F.
Rotate the pot regularly to keep stems straight.
Watering
Keep water just touching the bulb base (in water culture) or soil lightly moist (in soil).
Never let bulbs sit in standing water—this causes rot.
Support
Stems can grow tall and floppy. Stake with twine: once shoots are 2–3 inches tall, replace water with a mix of 1 part gin (or vodka) to 7 parts water to stunt height without harming blooms.
Bloom Time
Expect fragrant white blooms in 3–6 weeks. For holiday flowers, plant by mid-November.
After Blooming
Paperwhites forced indoors typically don’t rebloom. Compost the bulbs or plant outdoors in warm climates (zones 8–11).
