Tradescantia 'Concord Grape' is a compact, clump-forming perennial with deep purplish-blue, three-petaled flowers accented by bright yellow stamens. Blooming from late spring into summer, its blossoms appear in succession, ensuring a long flowering period. The arching, iris-like foliage is smoky blue-green and remains attractive throughout the season. Thriving in full sun to part shade, it prefers moist, well-drained soil and tolerates wet conditions, making it ideal for rain gardens, borders, and naturalized plantings.

Planting: Plant in early spring between February and May. Soak bare roots in water for 3–6 hours before planting. Use well-drained, medium-moist soil and plant with the crown at soil level. Firm the soil around the roots to eliminate air pockets.
Spacing: Space 12 to 18 inches apart to allow for mature spread and airflow.
Light: Prefers full sun to light shade. In hot climates, afternoon shade helps prevent leaf scorch.
Soil: Moist, fertile, well-drained soil with a pH of 6.0–7.5. Avoid heavy, soggy conditions.
Watering: Water thoroughly after planting. Then wait until shoots emerge before watering again. Once growing, water moderately and allow the soil to partially dry between waterings.
Temperature & Humidity: Hardy in USDA zones 4–9. Best planted when soil temperatures are between 35–55°F (2–12°C).
Fertilization: Begin feeding once the root system is established. Use a balanced fertilizer throughout the growing season.
Pruning: Cut back old stems after flowering to encourage fresh growth and prevent self-seeding.
Propagation: Divide clumps in early spring or late fall if overcrowded.
Pest & Disease: Generally pest-free. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
