Planting: Plant in fall when soil temperatures drop below 55°F. Set bulbs 6–8 inches deep with the pointed end up. Single early tulips are reliable performers in borders, containers, and mass plantings due to their compact habit and uniform height.
Spacing: Space bulbs 4–6 inches apart. For a strong visual effect, plant in groups of 10 or more—uniform blooms create clean, structured displays.
Light: Full sun yields the best results. They tolerate light shade, but ample sunlight encourages stronger stems and early flowering.
Soil: Use well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic soil (pH 6–7). Avoid soggy sites—excess moisture can lead to bulb rot, especially in cold spring soils.
Watering: Water after planting to settle the soil. In spring, irrigate only during extended dry spells to avoid weakening stems or shortening bloom duration.
