I have worked with A.D.R. Bulbs for almost 5 years now, and my company has sourced bulbs with them for longer than that. Communication is great - from ordering, to deliveries, to follow-ups on final product. I love the quality of the product as well as the service. We plant nearly 100,000 bulbs and A.D.R. keeps the whole process easy for us!

Fall Planting Schedule
Growing and Maintenance Tips for Tulipa Double Mid 'Foxy Foxtrot'

Planting: Plant in fall once soil temperatures fall below 55°F. Set bulbs 6–8 inches deep, pointed end up. Double mid tulips benefit from a spot with good air circulation to support their taller stems and voluminous blooms.
Spacing: Space bulbs 4–6 inches apart. For a dramatic effect, group 10 or more bulbs together—their abundant petals and midseason timing make them a focal point in spring borders.
Light: Provide full sun for best results. While they can tolerate light shade, abundant sunlight encourages stronger stems and fuller flowers.
Soil: Use well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic soil (pH 6–7). Avoid waterlogged areas, especially important for these heavily petaled cultivars.
Watering: Water after planting to settle soil. During spring, water only during dry spells to prevent rot or flower damage from excess moisture.
Temperature & Dormancy: Needs 12–16 weeks of cold (below 50°F) to develop roots and buds.
Fertilization: Feed with a balanced bulb fertilizer at planting and again as shoots appear in spring to support sturdy stems and full flower development.
Pests: Typically low-maintenance. Protect from squirrels with mulch or mesh. Ensure proper drainage to prevent rot. Deer will eat the flower buds or emerging foliage, especially in early spring. Protect with fencing or repellents in high-pressure areas.
Disease: To avoid Botrytis (Tulip Fire), plant only firm, disease-free bulbs in sunny, open sites. Prevent overhead watering, and promptly dispose of infected material—never compost it. Rotate planting areas annually and avoid replanting where Botrytis has occurred for at least three years.
