Polianthes tuberosa 'The Pearl' is a double-flowered tuberose known for its highly fragrant, creamy-white blooms. The flowers appear on tall spikes, reaching up to 4 feet, and open in succession, ensuring a long-lasting display. Blooming in mid to late summer, this variety thrives in full sun with well-drained soil and requires consistent moisture during the growing season. Hardy in USDA zones 7 to 10, it performs best when lifted annually in colder climates to encourage strong re-blooming. The sweet, intoxicating fragrance makes it a favorite for gardens and cut flower arrangements.

Planting: Plant tubers in spring after the last frost. Set them 2 to 3 inches deep in well-drained soil, with the pointed end up. In cooler zones, start them indoors or grow in containers for easier lifting.
Spacing: Space 6 to 8 inches apart to allow for mature spread and airflow.
Light: Full sun is best—tuberose thrives in hot, sunny locations.
Soil: Loose, well-drained soil enriched with compost or organic matter. Avoid heavy clay.
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist during active growth and bloom. Reduce watering after flowering as the plant enters dormancy.
Temperature & Humidity: Hardy in USDA zones 8–10. In colder zones, lift and store tubers in a cool, dry place over winter.
Fertilization: Apply a balanced fertilizer at planting and again mid-season. Avoid high-nitrogen formulas that promote foliage over flowers.
Pruning: Remove spent flower stalks to tidy the plant. Let foliage yellow naturally before cutting back.
Propagation: Multiplies by offsets. Divide and replant in spring.
Pest & Disease: Generally pest-free. Ensure good drainage to prevent rot.
